Academic Innovation

Academic Innovation & Experiential Learning

Academic initiatives ensure that all our students have access to the best opportunities for education and discovery and become enthusiastic inquisitive lifelong learners. We are committed to help deliver engaging learning experiences, offer transformational technologies, and provide training and tools for our teachers.

Analytical thinking, complex problem solving, creativity, resiliency, and flexibility are among the top skills needed for emerging careers by 2025, according to the recent World Economic Forum Report.

The Foundation provides strategic guidance and support to help our schools prepare for rapidly changing workplace demands and student interests, as we must pivot quickly to new realities caused by remote learning and working, and other recent disruptions.

We are currently focused on four project areas:

-Experiential Education: reimagining the school experience

-Innovation: meaningful integration of transformative technologies

-Emerging Disciplines: multi-disciplinary, future-focused

-4Cs: Creativity, Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking

The Carmel Schools FOCUS Foundation has continually funded the introduction of new technologies, from the school’s first laptops and initial infrastructure to digital textbooks, learning platforms and personalized learning strategies. We also help offer hands-on Experiential Learning opportunities so that students can deepen knowledge learned in the classroom and connect skills to real-world situations.
