Our intention is that each and every one of our students have opportunities to feel inspired, identify passions and nurture talents, acquire knowledge and skills, develop healthy lifestyles, and cultivate positive values so they are well-prepared to make the world a better place.
Carmel Unified is one of the largest geographical school districts in California
–stretching south into remote Big Sur and the Ventana wilderness, north up to Pebble Beach, far into the rural eastern valleys past the Cachagua area, and west to where the Carmel River meets the Pacific Ocean, serving diverse students from across 600 square miles.

The FOCUS Foundation (Friends of Carmel Unified Schools) has distributed more than $3 million to support our students and schools, in addition to accumulating an endowment fund for future generations. Our community is demonstrating a renewed commitment to excellence and philanthropy.
